ALBUM I: ENIGMA VARIATIONS

The series Album I: Enigma Variations is a line of paintings under my bigger, endless series „Soundscapes“ in which I visually interpret pieces of music that inspire me to create. 

The starting point for this collection were the Enigma Variations by Edward Elgar. A suite of pieces composed for orchestra in which the composer characterised his dearest people with each one piece of music. I, for my part set myself the challenge to manifest these characters back into form using clay, merely through the associations I get through listening to Elgar’s music and the very little hints he gave himself.
