KAMPFKUNST // MULTIMEDIA ART EXHIBITION
A multimedia expedition into my past and the history of fencing, which deals with reflections on the question of the art in combat as well as the inner struggle of the artist.
As part of my master's thesis in the Fashion Design department at Trier University of Applied Sciences, I created a collection inspired by my father's collection of historical arms, as well as the legendary fencer and opera singer Julie de Maupin (17th century) with the aim of merging the worlds of martial arts, fine arts and the applied arts.
The silhouettes, fused with allegorical, sculptural elements, my own graphic works, as well as a series of photographs, which were shot in the oldest still active „Salle d’armes“ in Paris, photographed by Linde and Oliver Starke, grow into an immersive installation that transcends fashion and invites visitors to peak behind the scenes of the creative process.
